Whats it all about

mti_1340Following the success of last year’s second ever Rugfest - with nearly 3,500 people attending on one of the hottest days of the summer - the gauntlet was thrown down to make this year’s event better. So this year’s Rugfest will be. Rugfest is a two-day event held at the Hithercroft Sports Park on the 24th & 25th June 2011.

The festival will still have the theme of family fun for everyone but is split across two great sessions.

Friday night will be fully focussed on great music, great food and an amazing selection of ales and drinks. Having camped (or if you really feel like it GLAMPED) overnight you can join those coming for just the Saturday to enjoy even more great music that will rock throughout the day.

mti_1294The kids will have plenty to entertain them with circus and drumming skills and the wonderful Jan and her van to name just a few. There will be stalls for all and the best food we can find you. Add to this our eclectic range of Ales and handmade cocktails and you can see the day’s potential.

Stay with us while we turn up the volume and head into an evening of pure musical entertainment with some of the best local bands and if that sounds like thirsty work we are sure you can find something from our collection of over 30 real ales ciders and lagers that will stop you dehydrating as the festival dance buzz kicks in.

Wallingford has always had a proud tradition of supporting good live music and events such as the Bunkfest and the Blues and Beer Festival are noticeable dates on the Wallingford social calendar. Rugfest is an addition to this tradition and is quickly establishing itself as an annual event.

The organisers are greatly indebted to the Bunkfest and Blues organisers for their support in creating what we genuinely hope will be one of the greatest days of Wallingford’s early Summer.
